Job Description
Role Objective:
The Insurance Officer shall handle all insurance related administrative work in the Insurance Section including recording & filing of claims, processing of member’s additions/deletions, distribution of insurance cards, day to day filing of policies and amendments, and documentation of related insurance transactions for UDC and subsidiaries.
Key Accountabilities:
• Performs all administrative task to support the Head of Insurance in the day-to-day operations of the section.
• Handles telephone calls and answers simple queries.
• Maintains and arranges insurance files and data (filing system).
• Assists in monitoring/handling of the Tracking Sheet of insurance claims.
• Liaises with insurance companies on the claims, medical cards, policies, insurance documents, etc.
• Receives and distributes medical cards, insurance documents, etc.
• Photocopies and converts files from hardcopies to e-copies.
• Maintains correspondence and arranges pick-up of documents to and from the insurance section.
• Takes Minutes of Meetings, as necessary
• Drafts and types memos, letters and other documents.
Policies and Procedures
• Follows all relevant operational and company policies and procedures so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Budget Control
• Carries out plans and programs as per approved budget.
Reporting
• Collects and inputs data and information in reports as required.
Related Assignments
• Carries out and performs other related duties as specified and when required and assigned by the Line Manager to improve or enhance the efficiency of department’s work and performance.

Skills
Educational Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Human Resource, Business Administration or related field.
Experience
• 3 to 5 year experience as underwriting assistant, insurance officer, insurance claims clerk or related post.
• Familiarity with insurance-related transactions is ideal
Technical Competencies
• Knowledge of the Company’s HR policies and procedures.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications such as Excel, Word and Power Point.
Behavioral Competencies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, English & Arabic.
• Must be proactive; should have the skills to initiate one’s work without being directed.
• Reliable, trustworthy and abide by the company’s terms and conditions.
• Must possess good organizational skills
